Angela Monforte - Principal Owner

        Angela began pursuing her passion for garden and landscape design by studying horticulture at the New York Botanical Gardens, earning a Certificate in Landscape Design. She apprenticed under a  landscape designer for several years before establishing her own landscape firm. Sun Scape Designs is an established full-service landscape design/build company servicing Westchester County, NY and surrounding areas. Angela oversees the design of every project from start to finish and prides herself on developing aesthetically pleasing and functional outdoor spaces. She works closely with clients to understand their style, vision and landscape needs to help them create their own personal oasis. Her firm designs, installs and maintains gardens for both large and small residential and commercial properties

      Angela is involved in the betterment of her community. She is a member of the Armonk Chamber of Commerce and a 12 year board member on the Town of North Castle's Beautification Committee. The committee is instrumental in enhancing three hamlets with seasonal plantings, holiday decorations, sculptures, and street signage. She was a member of the Armonk Green Acre's Garden Club and volunteers her time and landscape services to the local church and schools.

     Angela has a bachelors degree in Accounting/Information Systems from Pace University. She worked in the corporate world as an accountant for 15 years. She married and moved  to Armonk, NY in 1999, where she resides with her husband and 2 daughters. She initially learned about plants and garden design while experimenting on her one-acre property. She takes advantage of the cost effectiveness by using perennials to add seasonal blooms and interest throughout the year. In choosing plant materials, she learned to take into consideration the site's soil, sun location, and climate. The hands-on experience and knowledge she gained has proven to be invaluable when working with clients. Angela's mission is to create beautiful, low maintenance environmentally sustainable gardens, regardless of budget.
